I want to thank everyone who came out yesterday to vote and to congratulate Bridget, Natalie and Ross and wish them well on their next four years on council.
While the results were not the outcome I had wanted, I see my campaign as a positive experience. During the last six months I was able to meet many residents across the city who shared their stories, opinions, concerns and experiences with me. I heard some stories about Berkley’s past for the first time and found many residents who were passionate about their city.
I also want to thank my family and friends who helped me throughout my campaign. Without their support, advise and hard work, my campaign would never have gotten off the ground. Thank you to Cathy, Dennis and Nancy for braving the cold weather to hold my signs at polling locations throughout the day.
A shout out also goes to the other candidates’, their families, friends and volunteers. What you may not have seen behind the scenes, while standing with them at various polling locations, they offered me and others coffee, hot chocolate, water, chairs, blankets and sign holding, if needed. This is one of the many things that makes Berkley great; while we may not agree on everything, we can come together to support each other and the city.
I look forward to seeing what the next four years will bring to Berkley.
